hello from France
i just bought a 2004 custom Jeff Beck on ebay and i do think it's a wonderful axe i've been waitin' for a very long time..
but as it's not new it needs some overviews about 3 things that i'm writtin' you for(so i need deeply your help).here we are:
i've changed the string gauge because the first owner was on a too heavy set.i decided to put the ernie ball RPS 9 jeff beck custom gauge(9/42).i know that Steve Prior (JB's guitar tech) talks about some 9/52 gauge.but i can't find them.DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO BUY THEM?
more than this the bridge needs to be overview and rematch by a luthier so that it can work at his best.DO YOU HAVE OR CAN YOU TELL ME THE FACTORY SETTINGS ABOUT THE BRIDGE PLEASE?
at least the ARM block needs to be changed(it's moving in its hole not so rough but just enough to make me sad ) as the volume pot (it makes some noise half the way).WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THEM PLEASE?
well you know i tried to contact the master builder Todd Krause -the man who built the custom Beck- but i can't reach him and get some answer to my questions.who cares about a little frenchy guitar player...it's a shame because i've got 3 fender guitars and i really love your gear and artwork.
so i hope you will answer me.many thanks.
with respect.cheers.bruno

The bridge would float and pull up a half step on the low E.
You should be able to adjust the tension on the arm (if it's 2004).

I don't know why you keep saying that.
You should take it to a repair facility and see what's wrong. I can't see it to help you.
Should be easy to fix.

This is incredibly helpful for proper setup:

But, like Mr. Eldred said; your best bet is to take it to a guitar tech since you seem to have multiple problems. And, that way, you know it's done right.
