after a few weeks looking around i finally got the instrument that suited my specifications perfectly:

http://www.fendercustomshop.com/CDN/ima ... t_1000.jpg

Gonna pick it up on tuesday...it's an utter beauty and has that holy grail tone. Vintage sound but with some modern stuff (frets, radius and switch)

i'll post picks right when i get home!

It's so weird as it is a winter 2009 model...why it was still in the shop..i mean you would think that guitars like these get bought within 2 weeks or something. Could it be the economic climate, or could it be that even though it was built in 2009, it doesn't have to be in the store since then?

it's highly probable that it was in the store since then.
and yes, guitars like yours usually get bought pretty quick because people know they would have to place a custom order to get something similar if they don't grab it when they can, not to mention the limited edition factor.

it's the typical "player" Strat, nothing better imo.

you were really lucky I guess
