I've seen a few CS Strats described with a "65 Big C" neck profile. I'm wondering if I can get some range of how that translates into actual measurements. For instance, the Vintage Hot Rod necks that I measured were around .875 at the first fret to .980 at the 12th....fairly chunky and too big for my comfort as my hands are small.

Is there anyway to know the inside and outside ranges of the 65 big C profile?

By those measurements, you are referring to a 62 vintage hot rod and not the 57, right?

It's a comfortable neck; I have it on a MB Strat. Sorry, I don't have the precise measurements. On a relative basis, it's larger than the Mid '60s C I had, which in turn is larger than an early '60s C. However, it is nowhere near as large as the Cabronita C. It is also less chunky than a 10/’56 Boat Neck V. So, I would describe the '65 C as not small, but not too large either.

Hi,

Yes the 65' C shape is .847 at the 1st fret and .970 at the 12th. I have a 65 relic and I had a CS Deluxe which both have this neck shape. This is my perfect shape, it feels better than enything I have ever played. There is a a big change as you go up the neck, nice and thick where you need it.

Thanks for the exact numbers Mavrik! Wow...sounds nice, but maybe a bit too chunky for me.
