from an investment point of view based on there previous exploits they might not - most of the top stuff is 001 prototype replicas of originals they already have!

There is nothing old for them to have recreated...maybe a run on the cream strat with birdseye neck. or without opening to much of a can of worms (as i have read the other thread of the subject) there is the Bonamassa Goldie.....

So much 'dirty laundry' in that one, I suppose. It would seem that, from a stand point of the preservation of the artifacts of selected cultural icons, all of this gear would have best been contained in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum rather than be scattered to the four winds to private collectors. However, from the artist's point of view, he's paying back, not only for his success, but for his survival and those who are willing to own a 'piece of the rock', so to speak, might be considered his partners in this effort.

Presume the Blackie repilica is the one Mike gave to him at RAH?

Was it Stipes who had the CS do a Masterbuilt replica of the Reunion Concert guitar? I remember much to do about getting the grain pattern of the neck just right.

Yeah it was. I still have the pics and it's a beautiful guitar but not as heavily figured (or worn, superglue?) as Eric's. Eric had been using that neck since ~ 1998.

The Blackie Replica is a bit special because it is presumably classed as 'the prototype' ( ? ) And of course I was at that show on Wed 17th May where it got it's first public outing, so it'll increase it's value as it has been observed played live by a Fender Forum'er :D

what do you guys figure the Cream and Blackie replica will go for?

the Cream one is not the main one in that concert, correct - the main one was flamed not birdseye neck?

would have been better to sign that Blackie on the headstock (not that the future owner will probably care:))....

curious about the 'different' inlays on the 335.

My CC just got charged for the catalogue so hopefully soon!

It's the main one alright. Not sure how to describe the figuring as it's always looked a bit flamey / birdy / wornout / something else / whatever LOL :D That's an old neck on there, a JW Black build I believe (from forum info). If you check out some old videos you can easily see it in use (easily due to it's unique figuring). Whitehouse 98, Crossroads 99 during Old Love onwards, Tsunami Concert 2005 (still with LS), Cream 2005 (now with VN guess it's a new body?)

Hey guys, hope you're all well.
Couldn't help but notice my ears ringing, jajaja. Yeah I tried to have the Cream Strat replicated and Todd nailed it up to a point (say 93-95%) becuase every piece of wood is different and you can't exactly replicate the flame pattern on Eric's guitar, but I'd say he came pretty close. We chose from 4 different necks for this guitar, and it's not super glue though, I checked and checked and checked with Todd that subject and his answer was it's not super glue. He should know, since he worked with Mr. Black on the neck. Other thing that is difficult to reproduce is the worn pattern of that neck, since as you know that neck has been on Eric's guitars (not just the cream strat) since 98 or something like that: I believe it was on another blackie with lace sensors and then was switched to the one with noiseless. Anyway, I do believe THAT guitar is going to require some serious coin (at the auction) because of the cream reunion shows so if you wan't to save some dough, give Todd a call.
I just took it out the other day to change strings, neck (little adjustment) and setup and just love the sound, Todd did an amazing job.
Cheers!
M.

i cant remember, but i think you posted a pic of yours -right? Mind providing the link again?:)

interesting on the superglue...i had talked with TK a lot about it (but not specifically in reference to this guitar). most of the wear on EC's necks had been exaggerated because of the superglue (excluding Blackie, of course) so i had just assumed this neck also had it since it was worn so similarly to those that did have the superglue.

i think '98 would have been too late for the glue though

Hey ufboy73, I asked the super blue question to Todd specifically on this guitar and that was a NO on that one, all I know is he's been using that neck consistently for the past 12 plus years so the wear is related to the playing.
Here is the link of the pcitures which are not very good mind you:

Thanks!

There was def an ES 335 with the split inlay pattern that was quoted as being built for Eric as an almost exact replica of his Cream Guitar. I think the Orange Label on the inside of the guitar states so.

Its the one i've been thinking about too as i didnt picture it at the time and it has played on my mind since!

The signed Blackie looked sweet, signed by EC in Silver pen on the top horn in fat silver pen

If anyone can tell me how to upload pics i'll do so....

And yes, that Cream neck is sweet in birdseye maple!
