I have heard that a Strat can be wired to sound like a Tele. Has anybody else heard of this and how is it done? Please & Thank you.

I suppose you could put tele pickups in it and get a pickguard from Warmoth.com with the p/up combo cut you want.

I have heard of people putting a brass plate on the magnets of the bridge pickup, it gives the twangy-ness of the tele bridge pickup.

Ok, let me clearify. How do I wire the selector switch so that I can link the bridge p/u and the neck p/u together?

The hot set up for that sound, selfinflicked, is to wire the guitar with one volume, one tone (both masters for all output) and a blend pot that lets you blend in the bridge pickup (when you've selected the neck) or the neck pickup )when you're on the bridge.

You can do this without installing a superswitch, it gives you greater control over the resulting output (for example, neck with the bridge dialed in about 50% is awesome), and you can even use it as a "blow" switch, enagaing all three pickup sat once.

Here's how it's done, from the Lindy Fralin website (they also sell a blend pot. which is just like a regular volume or tone pot, but with the carbon trace cut on one end so the blend can be taken completely out of the circuit):

This is the ultimate Stratocaster, IMO.

There are a couple of ways to do this. One is to put in a mini toggle connected to the bridge pickup to activate it at will. This will also give you the option of using all 3 pickups at the same time. I have done this and it works great.

Another option is to swap the hot wires from the neck and middle pickups at the switch. This will give you these options: Bridge, Bridge/Neck, Neck, Neck/Middle, and Middle. You will no longer have the Bridge/Middle option.

I have tried the push pull to turn the bridge on and it works great.

Another wiring I am getting ready to try is Mike richardson's. It gives you the bridge/neck in parallel and series.
