Could you really order one, Mike?? There are only 2 or 3 in existance so I've never played one, but they seem like an interesting creature. could you guys try and replicate the "stealth pickups" like the first version? (I assume so since the Telemasters and Stealth Esquire/tele have had pickups under the pickguard)

Interesting. What determines whether a particular instrument can be resurrected, so to speak. :?: Here's this question concerning the Marauder, which I set against that Pamelina Monterey, and the Summers Tele, both of recent discussion on the Forum.

Have a look at A.R.Duchossoir's book for some background if you haven't already.

If I remember correctly, Fred Stuart built 5 Marauders in the mid-90s?

The Marauder came into the scene when Quilla "Porky" Freeman took the idea of hiding powerful pickups under the pickguard. Forrest White later noticed weak signals from the pickups. According to George Fullerton there was also a dispute between CBS and Porky Freeman concerning that patent.

A second version of the Marauder was planned in 1966, with regular pickups and complex switching. Only a small batch of 8 prototypes were made (4 of which featured skewed frets) before the Marauder project was finally abandoned.
