Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anyone here with a Monterey Strat could do me a favor and take some high resolution photos of their guitar..? What I need is a few birds eye photos, straight on of the guitar. What would be even better would be 3 or 4 photos, one over each section of the graphics. The more centered and leveled the pics are the better. Thank you so much for your help, it is very much appreciated!

I'm sorry, is that bad etiquette or something? Sorry, but I don't have anywhere near $17,000 for an original. I fell in love with the design after seeing Mayer play it on where the light is. I also felt it would be a fun and challenging project to work on. I have seen many people make replicas but frankly most of the ones I have seen have been very poor quality. I plan on making a few small adjustments to suite my taste.

Haha, so I'm not the first to have asked for such photos? I noticed that you posted a decent photo a while back, I just thought you may be willing to help me out! I am set on doing this, I just don't want it to turn out like much of the crap I've seen on the net.

If you want to make your own Monterey but add your own 'flare' to it, just look at a picture of the Mayer one and do your own thing. Someone with a Monterey isn't too fond of having other people copy it.

Better yet do what I am thinking about. Send your guitar to Pamelinia and she will paint you something similar. Not the same but it will be your own.

Great idea. I've talked to Pamelina on a few occasions and she's great to work with. She also makes a guitar called "Monterey" which is using the same idea as the Hendrix ones, just a little different with her own flare. I'd definitely suggest checking her out. She'll even take one of your guitars and paint it for you instead of you having to buy a new one from her.

Pamelina actually painted the Hendrix models put out by fender in 97, so she doesn't need pictures to base it off of. She is the one who did the artwork in the first place. Ask for Ed Roman... No comment.

Pamelina actually painted the Hendrix models put out by fender in 97......
Which is, of course, why I raised the question.

you know, I'm not sure I understand why its not OK for him to do his own reproduction. arguing that it is protecting the fender model doesn't make sense to me. as long as he doesn't try and sell it as that model why does it matter? from everything I have seen, wasn't it jimi who painted the guitar? did he copyright that art? please enlighten me...
