I received my NOS 65 custom shop Strat back in August. It was the limited edition for 2010 and I had the neck up graded to AA flame. It came with the 65 pickups on it. I don't think all of the 65's come with the 65 pickups in them. I have seen on some dealer websites the 65 Strats with different pickups in them, but those guitars were not the limited edition models. If you want the 65 pickups, why not order one. I got mine from Teddy at www.makenmusic.com I got a great price with the up graded neck on it. Mine is a NOS Black AA Flame rosewood neck 65 Limited Edition Strat. I am very happy with this guitar and the quality and workmanship on the guitar is top notch. Fender is really making great products and I highly recommend buying one of their products, whether it may be a guitar or amp, you will be very happy with your purchase. Let us readers know if you decide to buy a 65 Strat and where you purchased it. Good luck! :D

I also have 2010 1965 CS strat. The '65 strats made in the past did not have the CS '65 PUs. To my ear, the '65 pu's have everything I'm looking for in a strat pu. I am blown away by this guitar and recommend it to anyone looking for a great strat. I dont know if you can buy just the CS '65 pu's. I'd love to hear from anyone else who has the CS 1965 strat!

I have a 2005 NOS '65, and it's one of my favourites! I have always beleived that the '65s had '65 pickups fitted, as that was their original spec, so I'm not sure where the info that they never had '65 pups fitted comes from!
To my ears, there is a slight tonal difference which seems to suit "bluesier" songs particularly! There have been lengthy discussions of these pickups on other forums.

Of course, a '65 of the era of mine, has a 7.25 radius, and vintage frets, while the "new" '65s have a 9.5 board and 6105 fretwire.

In my opinion...excellent guitars! :)

What color is your 65 and is it a NOS? Where did you purchase yours? Great guitars the 65's are.

Mine is Lake Placid Blue. Here's one of my typically "average to poor" pics!
Although I live in the UK, I bought the guitar in NH.

Are the 2010 models made in limited quantities? I can't seem to find one anywhere.

I believe Motorcitychick specially ordered hers through Makenmusic, and you may have to do the same if still available.

You will probably have to special order the 65 Strat with the 65 pickups in it. Contact Teddy at www.makenmusic.com you will be treated great and also get a good price. :D

Mine was team built, because the Master built is a little out of my price range. Call Teddy or email him at www.makenmusic.com You will be surprised the deal you will get. My guitar was a bit more because I wanted the up grade AA flame neck on it. Teddy was lower on price than any other dealer I checked with. Good luck in waiting on a dealer to get one in with the 65 pickups. 2010 is almost over and the new limited edition custom shop guitars will probably be shown at this winter Namm Show coming up. If you put your order in now, I am sure it should only take maybe 90 to 120 days to get one, unless Fender Custom Shop has some on the rack at their factory. What finish were you considering and NOS or Relic? :D
