Let's try this....What do you think of roller nuts? Pro and cons?

The forum member for this one is Xhefri, our Strat Plus guru. If he doesn't show in 24 hours, I'll get him for you. While waiting you can log into his website at www.xhefriguitars.com. It'll give you some idea of what out there that calls these pages home.

Doc

I would think a roller nut would help staying in tune, if a person uses the trem a lot. Isn't that the "theory" behind them?

There's a device called a Tremsetter which is installed in the vibrato cavity which does that. The rollers faciliate the vibrato, and they've gone through two phases of development, but perhaps the X-man should take this one for the fine details. A look at his website will clarify why.

RDNZL !!! :x

I do own a 2001 CS 56 NOS 2 color sunburst strat with gold hardware. Before me this guitar belonged to a Fender rep in our New England section of the country. serial # R10843.
I don't know about the comparison since I do not have the other model you want a comparison with. I only know about my guitar and I thought my opinion would answer part of the querry.
It is vintage replica thru and thru. If you play 50's, 60's, 70's even 80's rock, R&B and Blues it is a wonderful guitar, if however you want absolutely noiseless, no interference, SCN type sound ( my other strat ) you would not be pleased. The 56 is particular, temperemental, but I wouldn't want it any other way ( sort of like my better half).

However, most of the people on this forum are knowledgeable, helpful and have better things to do than to post BS or mislleading answers.[img]Image
