So I ordered myself a "Fender Custom Shop Special Edition Custom Deluxe Stratocaster" from an online retailer, and while I'm awaiting it, I decided to look up more detailed specs. However, I can only find the "regualr" Custom Deluxe on the fender custom shop page and not the "special edition." A google research just returns page upon page of online guitar/music/etc stores selling that model but with little additional info.

Is this a new model and that is why it is not on the Fender official website yet? Anybody try these guitars? I'm anxious for it's arrival./

Is this a new model? I'm kind of curious why the "special edition" custom deluxe isn't on the fender website (if it is could you kindly point me to the url?)

I'm specifically also wondering if the middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity. I guess I could find that one out when the guitar comes later today...

Thanks.

Did you go to the Custom Shop site? Is this what you're asking about?

At musicians friend it says it's a "special edition" custom deluxe. Says it has 3 CS '69 pickups. The guitar in the link you posted has a Texas Special in bridge.

Thanks for the response btw. Are they different guitars, or did musicians friend just make a mistake?

Go to the Custom Shop site and look for your guitar. I'm sure you'll find it.
Good luck and hope this helps you.

Contact MF.
It's a custom order from them. If their spec sheet is wrong, they will tell you the right spec.

Hey,

I'm very interested in what you learn. I wrote both MF and Fender about 3 days ago, asking for details regarding the differences between the two Deluxe models, and so far no response. As far as I can tell, they look very similar, and exactly the same in important respects.

Thanks,
Patrick

PS: I couldn't find the Special Edition on Fender's website either...
