Hi there, I have a Custom Shop Strat that originally came loaded with Texas Specials. I grew quite bored of Texas Specials in general long ago, and after tinkering with different pickup heights, they're still unpleasant (very muddy and not musical).
Now I'm taking the steps to replacing them with the 69's. I read somewhere that the capacitor for Texas Specials is different than CS'69.

I've already tried looking for Fender wiring diagrams and parts list for guitars loaded with the 69's to no avail, and a Fender Customer Service rep said that the custom shop keeps that info pretty close to the chest, but all I want is a suitable capacitor.

.022uf, .033uf, or .047uf?

So my question to the enlightened is this: What capacitors and and pots, etc., do I really need to make the upgrade?

Thanks in advance.

When I ordered my set from Acme they came with a 0.022 uF cap and they sound heavenly. It did have modern wiring but I don't know if that makes a difference.

My set did not come with one, so I just used .022 that I had as a spare part and to me they sound just fine.

I also had a compliments on the classic Jimi strat sound (these guys are a huge Jimi fans and I was not even playing Jimi songs). FWW
