After some help please guys and gals. I ve been after one of these for ages and these two have come up on E bay. I ve always been anti e bay when it comes to buying a guitar, but im really struggling to find what im after, but i might have to give in and get one from e bay. So can i have your opinions on these two, because i do have some resevations.

and

Right, The first ones seems to have a satin finish and the second a gloss? I know there different years but was the finish changed? Not sure about the cases as well. If there both original i thought the 2010 us only issue one had the black case, not tweed. To me the first one seems a better deal. But i ve never bought a guitar from e bay of this value and im a bit bit out of my depth. Help please.
Many thanks in advance.

It might just be the photography! You can always ask the seller about it!

Waiting on response from both sellers. I ve asked about the case on the second one. For a supposed never played the case looks frayed and a bit battered.

On the first one; that is a standard Custom Shop Clapton and not the Ltd edition in EC Grey. The color is Pewter, which has been available since 1988 and is a shade lighter than EC Grey. The tweedcase with orange interior is standard for the regular CS Clapton Strat.

The Ltd EC Grey has a Ltd Edition CS logo on the headstock and a Ltd Edition neckplate. It also has a Ltd edition COA and a black Ltd editon case (with black interior).

One the second one: exactly the same as the first one; standard CS Clapton strat in Pewter.

Here's a Ltd Edition in EC Grey; spot the differences.

Best advice I could give you is shop around as we approach the end of the model year and see where you can get the best price for the EC LTD if it's the Grigio Silverstone AKA EC Grey finish you want, or even the Daphne. So far all you've been getting from EBay is BS and mis-information. You deserve the benefit of all that can be derived in terms of warranty and The Custom Care program for a guitar like that. Second owner instruments DO NOT enjoy that benefit.

Doc

The wrinkle here to be avoided is that even a Custom Shop guitar still in the carton unopened, if sold on Ebay is 'second owner' and that must be remembered.
