I have a 1996 Custom Shop Waylon Jennings. The S/N on the back of the neck is WJPROTO. I have all docs signed by John Page as well as case and strap.

Any idea how many of these might exist. I can't find any of the custom shop WJ models for sale and I am trying to access a value.

I don't see any mention of PROTO s/n being used in the markings database on Fender.

Any insight is appreciated..

A pro is a proto as its name says.
So it should be a One-Off before production starts

Thanks - I actually heard from someone else who said there could be more than one prototype.

I want to insure this thing and can't find any comps and insurance company is hesitant to assign value other than what I paid.....and I can't even find a non proto model for sale to assign some type of value.

Not sure if Fender keeps track of Prototype info.......
