You're right Alain, I also adjusted the bridge saddles, forgot to include that.

Great info, I did not realize that these were set up as lefties. I would suppose that it would be fairly common for people to switch the nut and the strap button so it could be played right handed. Looking back as pictures I have collected I have seen 2 monterey strats with the "righty mod."

How do you think an added strap button and swapped nut would affect the value? I have seen recent sales of $15,000 for a 100% original one, but curious as to what that price would be if it had the right handed mods.

Any ideas?

The right hand strap button hole is already there (of course), the nut for a lefty can be reinstalled easily; nothing detrimental to the original value if everything has been done properly and restorable.

Thank you for the info. It didn't occur to me that there would be a right handed strap button hole on the upper horn already. I had it in my head that a hole would have to be drilled. So I suppose only the nut would have to be switched and saddles adjusted. I guess nothing that would affect the value if done correctly.

Thanks.

So sad to see this without the guitar... If you know anyone missing the case - this is where it is!
