I have seen two re-issues with the intonation screwheads facing the mute, rather than the trem plate like the original '60's versions had. One in shell pink (Relic) presently on ebay. One was mine, a burst N.O.S. Just curious.

Just wondering why they installed this way?

Here's the shell pink I was talking about. Scroll down the page for close ups. Mine is the same way.

The same seller has a black one with the bridge on the "correct" way, though.

What gives?

Hmmmmm. 2006. Have these been restrung? That bridge will fall out if you turn it upside down. Weird. we don't do it like that at the shop.

Never restrung as far as I know. I bought it two weeks ago from very reputable dealer in Wheaton, MD.
It was made 10/31/2006. It was special ordered for a customer in 2006, but they decided not to buy. It went back in storage, and was sitting in the case, in the shipping container since. Noone put it on the floor because of the special order label on the shipping container.

The bridge actually has 2 small black screws that hold it in. So I don't think it would've fallen out. Is that normal, or do you think it had been altered by someone over the years?

So, it is normally installed screwheads facing the trem plate, like the originals? Just wondering. Thanks.

Click here to see another VI with the bridge on "backwards". Just scroll down to the olympic white masterbuilt Chris Fleming VI detail bridge picture. Just wondering how it's s'posed to be.
