"...First of all we don't even know in what line (signature, Tribute?) it's going to be. Furthermore nobody has ever seen one of the 83..."

- Limited Edition as stated in the thread.
- There's is pic of one of the 83 in the thread as well.

Thanks Mike, must have missed some things in the TBO thread. Then again, the thread is getting quite long.

With seen I meant seen "in the flesh", but that's okay.

Does "Limited Edition" mean that the same sort of attention will be paid to details as in the Tribute series?

Greetings...

I have found that 200 of the Custom Shop versions of the Bonnie Raitt were made. Does anyone know how many of the (blue) Artist Series Bonnie Raitt Stratocasters were produced?

Thanks,

n.

Some of us know what the production line guitar looked like. How about what you saw today.

Looks just like all the rest of 'em I suppose but imagine the white pearloid kinda yellowed and with cream knobs. Just looking older than it is without any phoney-baloney relicing. A little tarnish on the hardware, couple o' nicks and dings.

I've never been a huge fan of blue guitars (although I have a daphne blue strat) but this one's very pretty. Also the first time I've played the Texas Specials. I didn't know until looking up info on this guitar that the neck is a bit narrower than standard but I didn't notice this while playing it.

Cheers,

I theorize that they were looking at interest from women who play conventionally. Can't say how much the neck carve factors in for a slide player. Given the current interest in relic finishes, her main stage guitar would be a more relevant project.

Thanks guys, my reason for asking is that I just never see them. I started playing after they were discontinued and am aware of many of the more recent Artist / Signature models but this is one that must not be out there in great numbers. ? Perhaps not much of a market... I poked around online and only found one photo of her playing the blue one.

The Artist model is more appealing to me than the Custom Shop version. I'm not wild about all the gold hardware on the CS but the signed pickguard is sure a nice touch.

From my understanding these Custom Shop versions of the Bonnie Raitt signature model were built by Dennis Galuszka and Todd Krause.

I may be wrong but, on the 2001 Bonnie Raitt DVD " Road Tested " she is seen playing two blue bodied strats.
One with a matching headstock in the early part of the vid. On the song " Something to Talk About "
The other like the photo with a clear headstock in the latter part of the vid. on the song
" Love Sneaking Up On You "

That is about the best I have found for seeing her sig. model.

I am proud to say I currently own a Bonnie Raitt Signature Series guitar and even had Eric Johnson sign it. It plays wonderful and sounds phenom through my 1990 Fender M80 Amp. I also push an Digitech 1101 Effects processor through it to get a Satriani /Johnson sound. Why they did not sell is attributed to Fender's marketing to a specific gender.
Anyway, what an awesome piece of work it is and I am proud to be in a select few who own one....... Rock on !
:D
