My brother just bought a custom shopt 60's NOS strat and LOVES it. He said everything he read about Custom Shop is true!
Anyway, although he fell in love with the guitar the minute he picked it up and strummed it, he does wish the neck was tinted (like on his SRV and not the "bright white" often seen on newer fenders). So, does anybody know if its possible to get a neck tinted? If so, who does this and how much? Can fender do this?
Keep in mind that his guitar is custom shop, so he doesn't want some 16 year old "guitar tech" to touch it.
Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the CS will tint your neck anyway you want as long as you are purchasing a completely new CS guitar. They don't do piece work or repairs according to a post ME posted a while back. So the answer is yes and no!!  Good luck!!

Just check out the pics on the thread right below yours, the 2010 LTD Clapton one... it has pics of a tinted CS flame neck.

+1 on what fhopkins said.

There are places that will refinish your brothers neck and tint it if desired...but...it's probably not worth all of the work involved. He'll have to be without his guitar too while it's stripped and refinished.

Maple will darken naturally on it's own in time anyway.

Here's some examples of some of my guitars with varied degress of tint from the Custom Shop.
