I know just how you feel.

I'm the proud owner of a 2001 Candy Green Eric Clapton Stratocaster. I remember the moment I ordered it, finding out I would have to wait a month because they didn't have any green EC strat bodies, and the moment I opened the box and played it for the first time.

I realize that mine is not a CS, but damn, they are great guitars. They are just so versatile.

Have fun and congratulations!

I am completely amped and can't stand the wait. I've ordered a Midnight Blue thinskin EC Custom Shop from Wildwood. But I don't get it until I go home first week of August. The wait is KILLING me!

This thread is all kinds of awesome. Wish I could've seen the festival.

If you don't survive the wait, we'll bid on your guitar. I'm betting that you'll do fine. It's an awesome axe! 8)

Mine is the loudest unplugged Strat I ever heard. I mean, like WAY louder than the Am Std I had, and I thought it sounded good unplugged.

What would contribute to that? Mostly the wood? The bridge? Mojo?

From what we've learned from ME on the Clapton, picking his brains through many threads and posts, the Custom Shop guitars are two piece bodies with a vintage routing including the rout in the lower bout for the preamp board. The Artist series guitars are three piece and probably routed HSH like the new Standard, and likely the older one, as well. The overall fit and finish from the CS can be expected to be superior.

Is it normal to just sit and stare at your guitar?

rdnzl,

No. I don't think that is wierd. When I got my EC Strat, my Strat Plus and my '04 50th Anniversary Strats, I was in owe of how they looked. There is something very sexy about how Strats work.

Here I was looking at my new Candy Green EC Strat. The neck was so white and perfect. The Green metalic color with looks like to me gold flake was awesome. I can't explain it. Strats are sexy!

The line angles where the surfaces transition are not as sharp.
