The BR Strat had a narrow neck shape which was player-friendly with girlie guitarists.

I recall Alain making a remark about that neck in discussions about that guitar waaaay back. I believe it was that, in addition to the quality of the build, which he found appealing.

The BR signature was available only as a regular Artist Series model if my memory serves.

The Custom Artist version was made exclusively for Bonnie herself.

Only 200 examples were made.

These guitars are extremely hard to find.

A little bit off-topic but useful when an important infomation is required for reference purposes.

I've met Susanna Hoffs and she is a babe.

I wish I bought her Sig Ric when it came out too. Cost prohibitive now and she plays that Ric with the Bangles.

I love my Vista Venus in seafoam green with matching headstock. I also have a black one too.

I would love to own the Linda Ronstadt and Rosanne Cash Martin but too expensive.

Fender would need to talk with artist or the artist would need to ask for someone made through the Custom Shop.

I waited years for an Andy Summers Tele, and it turned out that I was really waiting on Andy.

Sadly no Factory sigature model. :(

Lets get the word to Chrissie. I have no idea where to contact her, but if anybody does, please let us know.

Please tell me what is so special about this guitar?

I can understand an interest in an artist's guitar. For years I was obsessed with having an Andy Summers Tele; a very unique Tele, but why her Tele?

By the way I ended up building my own Andy Summers inspired Tele. In many ways it is more versitile than the Andy Summers Tele. I can get Cream era Clapton tone, an almost Fishman pups sound, and 5 different pups setting. My Tele doesn't have the out of phase effect that Andy's has, and my pre-amp is less over the top. Andy only used that pre-amp when he wanted to piss people off.

Why Andy Summers Tele or an EC Strat, Jeff Beck Tele etc? Why do people want certain artist in the RocknRoll Hall of Fame? Because it is an honor and you are acknowledge by your peers. I would be honored if I had a guitar with my name on it by Fender and people bought it. Chrissie Hynde is an excellent songwriter and musician and tells it like it is. I admire her for her talent and being able to make a living doing music. There is nothing out of the ordinary about her guitar, but she has a certain sound when she plays, that you know it it is her playing. It is like all the other artists guitars, we want it because we admire them as musicians. The Beatles Strats were bought right off the rack in a music store, but guitar players want that model, color and year because the Beatles played one. It's a mojo thing. It's hard to put into words. I would have loved to have a Brownie, but can't afford one, so I have a custom shop Strat that is from the same year as Brownie. Close as I can get to one. You must be very talented to be able to build your own guitar. I admire you for that. :D

Thanks for your throughts. As for building my Tele, I had help. Which Tele are you talking about? She plays a few.

A picture would be great. By the way, she is very cool and part of my childhood memories.

It doesn't matter to me which Tele it is. It would be nice to have Fender honor a great artist like Chrissie, who has paved the way for other female musician's to be in rock n roll bands and make a living at it. I don't have a digital camera to be able to post a photo, sorry.

Personally I opted for a Robbie Roberton signature model but with no avail.

The Custom Shop had indeed built a moonburst Robbie Robertson signature Stratocaster based on "the last waltz" Strat with the wonderbar bridge but this guitar is made exclusively for Robbie himself and not available publicly.

Image

I'm not sure as 100% if the electronics are active or passive.

The guitar in question is unique as it has two slanted dual-coil ceramic stacks tied together in a bridge humbucker configuration and a Vintage Noiseless pickup in the neck.

I hope Robbie finally agree to have his signature guitar available for everyone, a must for die-hard Band fans.

Sorry for the off-topic reply.

I could see this guitar being a signature model for three reasons.
1. Unique pickups and mostlikey very personal.
2. Unique paint job you can't get anywhere else.
3. Iconic and instantly recognizable.

I feel that this should be the criteria for signature models.

There were moonburst prototypes with regular Stratocaster knobs, aged parchment plastic parts and a Mini Floyd Rose bridge with LSR nut and Schaller lockers.

You're decidely a huge Clapton fan.

Did you know that Yvonne Elliman was seen playing Brownie? You're not alone!
