Hey why not a Chrissie Hynde Telecaster! The Cusotm Shop made a Sheryl Crow Telecaster based on a Tele that was given to her. I have seen the Pretenders live at the Ryman and Hynde has some chops on her. I would buy the guitar if Fender makes one. It doesn't matter to me if it comes from the Custom Shop or MIJ. I just would love to have one of those guitars, because I admire Chrissie for her work in music, plus she was a good friend to Linda McCartney who was a fantastic photographer. :D

Hi,

Is that Tele you're talking about?

Have you also watched the Central Park concert? These hot chicks performed a blistering rendition of If It Makes You Happy.

Unfortunately I'm unable to find a video from that performance.

Yes that is one of the Tele's. She plays a few and I don't care which one Fender would choose to make. I just wish she would approve Fender to do an artist one on her. :D

Chrissie is also a high-profile Strat goddess:

I just wish Fender would do a guitar with her. I saw her in concert a few years ago at the Ryman and she used only Telecasters. I did not know she also used Strats. The girl can rock!

Chrissie joined Jeff Beck on-stage for an amazing rendition of I'll Stand By You in November 9th, 2011.

Thanks for posting that video. I never get tired of seeing Chrissie perform. I wish she would do more concerts. The Pretenders is one of the greatest rock bands. Fender I wish would do the honors and make a Hynde Telecaster. :D

You're decidedly a die-hard fan of Chrissie and her Pretenders! :P

Nowadays Chrissie plays a Custom Shop Telecaster based on the original mirrored guitar.

I think it's that guitar you're drooling around.

Other than it being her guitar, what sets it appart from any other Telecaster?

Difficult to find one . Too bad Cheers Alain

I seem to remember our talking about this way back when, and the thrust of that short lived run was to get the distaff side engaged in guitar playing. Those hungering for the '66 are likely going to have to wait until Fender deems it appropriate to do a Tribute Repro of it, and then be prepared to go the freight. Until then, it looks like Craigs List or Ebay for the hopeful.

The BR Strat had a narrow neck shape which was player-friendly with girlie guitarists.

Bonnie brings at least three of her signature Fender Strat prototypes on tour to accomodate the open slide tunings she uses on different songs.

Bonnie's battered old Strat had a '66 neck mounted into a '65 body.

She bought "Brownie" (not to be confused with EC's sunburst '56) for $120 in 1969.

Sorry for being off-topic.

What sets apart any other artist guitar? The coolness attached to the brand, otherwise the artist series guitars wouldn't sell. Look at Clapton's guitars, are they different from any other guitar? Yes because he is cool, which makes the guitar cool and that is why these guitars are being produced. I have a custom shop Clapton Blackie and that Strat rocks. Fender did a Sheryl Crow custom shop Telecaster based off of a Tele that was given to her. I have no clue why she got an artist signature guitar, but there must be a demand for it.
There are a lot of artist models with artist names that are guys, and some I have no clue why they got their name on a brand, but power to them. I love the Tele's Chrissie plays and yes I would be honored to be able to have one of them with her name on it, because she is iconic in the music world and a trend setter and the girl has chops. :D

It is the Central Park concert that inspired you so much in your decision to purchase a signature Blackie?

Or the 2010 CGF?
