How much can you expect to pay for a Cruz/Krause masterbuild? Out of curiosity?

$5K is a good start price target and then it depends what you've specified in the build. One of our group placed an order whose specs topped $8K.

FYI: I've seen a heavily relic(k)ed signed Krause "Clapton"...not labeled as such but rather "57 Active", and unsigned by the artist, in the Platinum Room at the GC where I do business, priced at $4999. Was it indeed a "Clapton" in disguise? Yep, right down to the neck, offseet waist relief, midboost, and the Noiseless pups.

That is why they tout the phrase..."When You're Ready"

Hope that's enough to get you going.

Doc

[quote="LeftyElliot"]Hi folks!

Lefty: Check out the last post I just responded to and give us some input vis a vis your well worn running thread on the left handed Claptons some months ago.

We have an interested party looking to leave some 'large' on Krause's workbench

Just bought a second hand 1955 relic strat, masterbuilt by John Cruz in '05. The case says its a limited edition...

I'd love more info on it if anyone knows more- I've also posted a separate thread on this.

Ed Mardell, whose post leads the page, is asking about price points. You've had some experience there. Your input would be appreciated.

Doc.

Ah right I see... it's a little tricky as it was 2007 when I got mine from Todd Krause, and things have changed a bit since then. I paid £3500UKP (from memory) and that was for a regular EC strat (by regular I mean no customization).

Might also be worth checking out somewhere like Wildwood Guitars, as they have some cracking gear on the shelf - often some masterbuilt too.
If I was right handed that shop would have bankrupted me by now.

Who here has a Fender Masterbuilt strat? If so, who's the builder and what are the specs?

You'd best be prepared to elect alainlafrance the president of this club, and be in for a long night of reading if he ever decides to post the information you're asking for.

I'll second that Doc! Have not seen anything close to his collection yet!

A different assortment of guitars, that. Alain seems to have more solid body Fender electrics, Gretsch and other odd pieces.

62 Stratocaster Reissue Master Built John Cruz Heavy Relic

Awesome Guitar plays like a dream. Got the deal of a life time on it. Wish I Knew how to post a Picture..At first glance people confuse it with almost the same guitar made by John English. I believe that was a 59

I believe my version has a slighlty smaller neck profile and the Rel icing was nicer . Has the s-1 switching..Lightweight as a feather..9.5 Radius Neck C shape Rosewood Board Number 78 0f 100.

He must have been in a creative mood that day. I have run into owners of the same guitar. He really went the extra mile on mine.

Thanks John
