Maybe a Fender Executive could help me.

I have 1 of 2 Custom Shop 62 reissue Stratocasters in Fiesta Red produced for the 1987 NAMM Show.

I have stored this guitar since I received it after the Show was over. It is right out of the Show case. I was sold the guitar through a vendor.

Fender let me have this one because they forgot to fill my order an had ran out of Fiesta Red paint. I know this guitar has to be rare because the sales person at Fender spoke to me on the phone an said it was one of 2 produced Fiesta Stratocasters for the 1987 show.

Fender gave it a serial number which it did not have before the Show. It does not have the Custom Shop logo because the logo was not available for the plate.I have my dated receipt.

I'm curious this is probably a Fiesta prototype being it was made before the official release date for the Custom Shop 62 reissues for January 1987. The neck is stamped 1985 therefore it is one of the early Custom Shop Models. Does Fender want it back for their Museum? It was stored as a collectable not played.
I have the CustomShop Sunburst with the logo which was ordered right after the sale of the Fiesta was approved.

I also have the Red Gumball Stratocaster which I bought from the dealer after Fender was done speaking with us on the phone in December 1986!

All 3 guitars are still unused as they were bought for collecting They would be great for the Fender Corporation Museum.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Fender dont buy guitars at all, ever. Even vintage ones. You could give it to them

Fender gave the other Fiesta Stratocaster a 57 to an Fender Executive so they probably would of taken the 62 had it not been for me. You can say they were nice enough to fill my order with a rare one. It's stamped 1985 with a plain serial plate not the common Custom Logo type. After the 1987 NAMM show they stamped the plate and sent it to the dealer for pickup. The fiesta paint makes it one of the rarest that the shop produced and the logo less serial plate makes it one of the earliest Custom Shop models produced

This is probably a prototype they seldom let these guitars get out of the shop! It had to go from the show back to Fender so they could stamp it and secure it to settle my order which they forgot in late 1985
