I've been looking at buying a new Custom Shop Strat from one of the CS Showcase vendors. Most of them seem to carry a version of the 60's Relic Strat with the 9.5" radius board and 6105 frets, which I like. My question is about the neck shape. Does anyone have measurements? Or, can anyone describe that shape relative to, say, a current American Standard? Are all CS 60's strat necks nominally the same shape? Are the necks from Wildwood and Dave's Guitar the same shape when described as either a "60's Oval C" or a "60's Slim C"?

I have no way to play one in person, so I'm kind of stuck!

My preference is for something with a "C" shape that's thicker than an American Standard neck. I owned a 62 Vintage Hot Rod that felt a bit too thick. A few years back I had 54 Thin Skin that was OK. My EJ Strat feels comfortable, although not a "C" shape, but the thickness is good. I have a Warmoth 59 Roundback neck that also feels comfy. I tried a John Mayer Strat yesterday that felt pretty good, but maybe a hair on the thick side.

I've been compiling measurements from various web site for 1st and 12th fret thicknesses, and here's what I have so far:

CS 60 Relic (59 Large "C" Shape from Wildwood)
0.894/0.970

CS 60 Relic (60s Oval "C" Shape from Wildwood)
0.79/0.89 (approx)

CS 60 Relic (60s Slim Taper "C" Shape from Dave's Guitars)
0.82/0.88 (approx)

American Standard
0.847/0.897

Thin Skin 54 (Oversized C Shape)
0.84/0.97

SRV
0.83/0.98

Warmoth 59 Roundback
0.86/0.97

Do the CS 60's neck dimensions look about right?

Thanks!
