Thanks to thewood1987, then to ShereKahn I was able to put my hand on this stunning Fender Custom Shop Rosewood satin finish Stratocaster, masterbuilt by Jason Smith in 2009.

That's the heavy weight of all my guitars : 5kgs (10 pounds) compared to the Tele : 4kgs (8 pounds) but the latter is chambered.
Rosewood body, rosewood neck with rosewood cap

The two blocks of rosewood are separated by a thin layer of maple to secure the gluing (rosewood is somewhat oily and difficult to fix together)

Jason Smith joined the Fender Custom Shop in 1995, and in 2006 completed a 5-year apprenticeship under late Senior Master Builder John English
Jason Masterbuilt the Stratocaster, John Masterbuilt the Telecaster....
Jason built only two, one glossy and this satin one.
They were made as replicas of the 1968 Rosewood Strat ( 2 units, one went to a Fender employee) which was to be given to Jimi Hendrix, but never reached him...

If George Clooney were to make an ad for the Fender Custom Shop he would say:
"What else ?"

A pair of beauties! What is the stripe on the side of the strat body, some sort of inlay?

It's a thin layer of maple, permitting to glue the two blocks of oily rosewood..
Same on the Tele.

Those are two beautiful guitars!

The only thing I don't envy is the weight! Oh, my poor aching back! :)

Specially the Strat ; when UPS delivered it, the UPS boy got a backache...
A Gibson Les Paul Custom is a feather in comparison..

Yes, indeed a chimering sound with a lot of crystal harmonics no other Strats have.
The in-between positions are simply The Graal of those positions' sound.
But even on the thigh..

Terrific looking set, Alain! I wouldn't have guessed that the Telecaster
was chambered. Congratulations!

Quite proper. Seems that should be something to be in Dani's hands presently, and remain either in the family or in some type of responsible conservancy for posterity.
