Mr. Eldred, if you can help with this, I'd appreciate it. :)

I used to own a nuclear yellow flathead telecaster. I loved that guitar dearly. LOUD, resonant, lightweight, fast neck, etc. Sadly it was destroyed (and then sold) by an ex who wound up selling or destroying every piece of musical gear I had (i'm rebuilding now). I have been trying to get a dealer to give a quote as to how much a new flathead would be, and what I get as a Response is either:

a) The Jim Root Tele is just as good
b) Fender doesn't make them anymore,
c) WHY would someone want THAT?!
d) What's a flathead telecaster?

At this point, I'm almost willing to pay the entire MAP / MSRP (not just what the customer pays, but what the listing is in the fender price guide), just to have one again. I loved mine. I've tried the GC's near my house, the music zoo (they didn't get back to me), Sam Ash (both on LI and on 48th st.), As well as places further away (I've contacted as far out as the Music Gallery... and no quote of $$ / time.) I know that it may not have been particularly popular, but it was my favorite telecaster and I was wondering if perhaps the CS could help with getting a place near me (I'm near the GC in Carle Place) to provide a quote.

Thanks

Jason :)

We don't make them anymore, so if you want one, it has to be Master Built.
