Are these already gone or have they just not popped up anywhere yet? I'm probably going to use the money I earn over the next few months + summer to purchase one (assuming there are any to buy)... I'm guessing the latter but they are on sale in Europe so I'm just a tad bit confused.

If I do end up purchasing either.. I'm so split between the colors. The EC Grey screams awesome but the Daphne blue is so calming and beautiful. I would buy both if I could! :P What would your preference be?

No longer available in Europe or Japan (unless dealers have them on order or in stock), but available now in the USA and Canada until the end of the year...then they go away.

Depends on your mood! Personally, I'd have the Custom Shop do one in Sienna Sunburst over Ash and leave the signature off the guitar the way Eric does. Maybe he'll then end up ordering one of mine for his own collection. 8) How's that for a turn of events??

Feare, I have an EC Grey & I'm thinking about getting the Daphne also. Both should be available here for a while as Mike told you but they'll go fast. This is a real player so don't miss a great opportunity. Good luck & Rock on!

Lay away plan...lay away plan. Or credit card pay it off. But have it.
Can't speak for your budget of course, but Clapton's are the best guitar they ever built IMHO. I've owned two.

The current is an '89 Pewter which I just had in my hands yesterday. Everytime I play it, it's a knock out and I can't justify the GAS simply to own an LTD given the present guitar and the other gear interests I have. However, for a first-timer, the feedback on that Grigio (Grey) as well as the Blue, has been terrific, and they will be special because of the short run.

I already have an Artist series Blackie that I gig with all the time. IIRC it's also an 89 and that's what makes it hard to justify buying the CS strat. I also have CS 54, so it's hard to justify another CS.

There are others on the Forum who own Signature Series Claptons of '88'-'89 vintage. They are in a class by themselves. Top of the heap back then, and occupy a special niche. Certainly agree with your reluctance, though there is one of us who owns several Clapton Strats, vintage not withstanding.

Strats are definitely herd animals and need the company! Believe me, I'm trying to find away to justify that purchase.

The herd presently consists of the '89; an '08 Gilmour, an '08 FSR Deluxe VG; and an '02 Heritage CS Les Paul; Preferring the Lace Sensor Pickups to the Vintage Noiseless, I'm looking at the possiblity of adding both the Dave Murray, and '57VHR to the herd for the same investment as the Clapton. Justification likewise.

Maybe we'll both find that justification!

Hmm, interesting that you prefer the Lace Sensors. Those pickups are really the one thing that annoy me on that strat; to my ear they sound cold and trebly. Having the noiseless pickups would be the #1 justification to get one of the current Clapton strats.

Grigio Grey is identical to Pewter, but slightly darker.

Here's the 1989 Pewter you're mentioning:
