I can tell you about the Design. a while back before he died, John English built a Stratocaster for himself with a very similar design - that of a Peacock. now it looks a little different than this but I thought I'd mention it. it currently is at Fretted Americana. a link:

I don,t see how that strat and that tele are remotely similar. The wood looks like spalated maple to me but I could be way off.

Well I didn't want to ask a question that someone else could of possibly answered, but that is starting to look like a good idea.
