Check out Wildwood Guitars and see their special prices on the Gallaghers.
Looks like an inventory reduction effort. Would that the Holly went for that number. :?

Thanks Doc... I currently have a Rory... and check Wildwood daily

Just wondering if the Holly will be a 12k guitar or a 4k guitar and when it will come out...

Yep.....knew exactly what you meant. Hence my reply. I was surfing the Showcase Dealers for another reason and saw those Gallagher prices. They took me by surprise for sure. So your question seemed relevant.

There's also been similar discussion on another thread about where "The Mrs.'' saw fit to take that project and what the price point might turn out to be.

Personally, having owned a '58 nearly that many years ago, an 11/58 as opposed to that restored Holly 4/58, if that's what its to be, I dont' know that it will be any big deal for me to spend an arm and a leg for. I'd rather have the guitar they did a limited run of which they called "The Buddy", one alainlafrance owns. It's a dead ringer for my old guitar.

I just got back from the Namm Show and there was no Buddy Holly nor John Mayer Strat anywhere to be seen. I asked one rep about the Holly Strat and he acted like he did not know anything about it. I was a little disappointed with the lack of new custom shop guitars. There were a few Srtats and Tele's painted with weird designs and tons of the new Carbonita guitars. I saw sold tags on a lot of the guitars from dealers that I do business with. One Strat caught my eye from the custom shop team built. It was a 70's black Strat with a black body, black pickguard and white pickups on it, it was relic slighty.

The guitar you're talking about is an exact replica of David Gilmour's "Black Strat". It's fitted with a late '50s-style maple neck and has an extra toggle switch for further tonal combinations.

The Gilmour signature is available in New Old Stock (NOS) and Relic versions.

There were two threads running on the Forum the year you and I both joined, the two following the rumoured Gilmour project. They were as hot then, as the John Mayer TBO thread is now. The Gilmour's a bit different than the CS you ultimately obtained, but it's a guitar to be auditioned, if you can find a dealer who has one hanging around.

The guitar I saw at Namm had the big headstock on it. It was not the Gilmour Strat. The Music Gallery had their name on the tag as sold and I have not seen it posted on their website yet.
