I'm thinking about getting a set of CS 69's. Is the middle pick up RW/RP? I read where someone had said they get hum in all 5 switch positions with the 69's.

I´ve had a few guitars with these pickups and they all had a reverse wound/polarized middle without hum in the in between positions.

I don´t know if different sets are available though but I doubt it - why would anyone want to pass on humcancelling on purpose?

Mike,

thanks for the info on the set, I didn´t know that they made them like this. You´re right, I forgot about the "all vintage style" folks out there because the RW/RP set would be vintage enough for me.

Interesting that you say that they only come in certain guitars as RW/RP though.I thought that was a standard configuration as I haven´t seen a single one without it yet but that´s probably just me.
Interesting piece of info nonetheless

Thanks guys. I rarely use the mid pup alone so I might just get a '69 neck & bridge pup off the fleabay and use the RW/RP mid that's already in the guitar. Then the set up would be hum candelling in switch postions 2 & 4.

Thank you very much again Mike.

I guess I didn´t take the time to look into these because basically I cannot play anything with vintage style frets and 7.25 radius. Just doesn´t feel right to me so I have to have at least the 9.5 and 6105s on my guitars....

...that does rule out all the hardcore vintage correct guitars though
