Dear Santa. Please pay for my wisdom tooth surgery.

Don't feel too bad Nevin, I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 17, and now at 32 I have to have the 2nd set out (WTF?????!!!) soon.
They say it's quite common for another set to come .............

That's a most interesting observation. Kindly tell me who "they" are, and supply me with a copy of your most recent xrays.
Doc

My Orthodontist claims there are either another set of wisdom teeth coming in after all of this time. I gotta tell you there ARE other teeth coming in in exactly the smae sockets the old ones were , it's really weird. He said it was not uncommon for it to happen. I'm no Dr, but that's what he said.
I guess I needed some extra wisdom. I still have to go in for X-rays soon.

I'll let you know how it goes, too bad the DR. who pulled them the first time retired, I was hoping to get my money back....lol.

There is an entity known as a supernumerary, more than the usual of the same type in a particular location. I don't know the statistics on the incidence of supernumerary third molars (the so called 'wisdom teeth' because they typically appear around the age of 'wisdom') but I would have expected that, on the type of xray most orthodontists use these days, namely a panoramic, the existence of the buds of these would likely have been noted. :?

Ah, it's not often one gets a second chance at wisdom ...

I think it would be cool if Fender had a Santa Claus program where they pass out free gear(b-stock items or slightly used) to ppl(like a sweepstakes). Just a thought...

dear santa,

thanks for allowing me to get the '64 relic and '58 tele relic ahead of time before xmas... don't really want anything else besides a chance to purchase a TBO replica... 83 relics divided among 27,000 potential buyers/JM fans gives me a bad feeling that it isn't going to turn out very well... I foresee riots and lots of smackdowns at dealers... oh well, gotta thank grandma for the 12-gauge in advance!

anyway, another wish is that the other replicas find good deserving homes... god knows I don't deserve one of them (hey, why not be honest)

my final wish is that the Fender Custom Shop release a special replica of "Lonely Boy"!!!!!!!

TRAAAALLAAAA!

...ok, just kidding

happy holidays, everyone!

Chandler

[quote="chanman246"].......... 83 relics divided among 27,000 potential buyers/JM fans

How do you come by such a conservative figure.? Let's hope your dire predictions of sturm und drang fail to materialize. We only have the company and the artist to thank for that.

Seems to me that only way out of this is a lottery. Potential buyers post a good faith full payment and receive a number from Fender on registering the payment. On the appointed day, JM punches a key on a computer programmed to randomly select 83 numbers.

Oingo, boingo. :!:........and on to the next project. 8)

This is what have been done with the Marshall/Jaguar 40th Anniversary amp made in 30 units for the public at a cost of $ 8000 each.
hundreds of people registered
Then the Lucky Draw.
A few days later several surfaced @ a much higher price because speculators went into the project to make a substantial instant profit.

A few months ago one was proposed on ebay for $ 100 000 !!!

Ahhhhhh.......the entrepreneurial in us rises again. One certainly wouldn't find it there if there were not someone willing to pay the price.

Speculation in the wrong market can also bite you. I have an acquaintance who owns a home in Florida, in a community where 65% of the buyers have defaulted. It is my theory that they were all spec purchases, with no intent to live there.....as.....by the way.....I'm also convinced this person intended, but couldn't walk away. There was a lot of that down here before things went bust.

I hope the interest in matters concerning your collection continues to hold.

Hello ! anyone seen the tooth fairy..............

..............well, actually.............I've been known to be able to get a message through from time to time. However, if you're talking about anything related to The Black One, I'm afraid that would be next to pulling teeth....horizontal, fully bony, impacted, third molars, specifically 8).
