Yeah, supposedly 1970 was the last year of Jaguar production the next few years were just liquidating old stock.

You mean it looks like this?

It's probably worth a little over 2200 to 2500. That's right about what you paid for it. Not a loss.

Yea Exactly this !!!! The first time seeing it on a computer and not from me taking a photo of it. i just dont have the metal plate over the bridge near the pickups, but thats irelevent - 2 things wrong with it wich is kinda amazing for its age, when i bought it i played constintally and the D string on the second fret twangs and i know thats just from over use over the years, so should i leave and keep it all original like i did by putting it in the original case or get the fret ( or all ) frets replaced?? and the wammi bar holder hits the string under it, its resting on it so i dont use my wammi but this should nearly be a put away guitar for my kids to inherit pretty well. haha

I never heard about any Fender Limited Editions back in the "vintage" days. By 1970, all Jaguar production was limited, however.

a couple good info sites:
http://www.jimshine.com/jaguar/fenderjaguarhistory.htm
http://www.fenderjaguar.net/

The one pictured is pretty cool!

To the OP: you could probably get all of your frets leveled and recrowned. Then you'd have a "new" guitar!

Pity the 'engineering degree' required to figure that guitar's circuity out. No wonder the new signature versions are getting such a good review. One of my old bandmates bought a white one, first year out on the market. I bought his '58 Stratocaster.

You're likely a majority of one on that score. So goe easy.

Though the guitar never appealed to me personally, and still doesn't, there's an entire musical core built on both Jazzmasters and Jaguars out there. Dyed in the wool fanatics, that.

I can tell you for a fact that when both the Jazzmaster and Jaguar were released back in the day, it was tongue-hanging out time at your local music store. And, if my memory serves me correctly, that Jazzmaster was a $349 puppy back then, or maybe even higher. Made the Stratocaster look like a green ticket sale item at your local Guitar Center on Black Friday. :?

In fact, one of our members once posted a pic of his guitar and the original purchase receipt from them there days.

I #$@*&!% love Jaguars, and it doesnt take a degree, just a little dicking around to figure it out. I get sounds from Jaggies I can't get from any other guitars. But yeah, I don't like the look of blocks on any maple guitars.
