Anyone know of a 'Russian' strat with a coloured headstock. I've seen one for sale in Moscow listed as being the only one ever made with a matching headstock.

Very tempted to buy it and very cautious at the same time. Moscow is a long way for me to fly.

Alain I've recently lost my email contacts because of a computer repair. If you could mail me I'll point it out to you.

Alain owns one. I believe his has a matching headstock, so it isn't one-of-a-kind. sorry to break it to you.

it's an incredible guitar though!

The ones with a matching headstock were of a later second batch one year later. 10 all in again.

Ah ok so its misrepresented as being "the only one". Not sure of its appeal now or authenticity. If they've lied about one thing there will be other things wrong too.

Will give it some more thought.

Cheers mate.

Still, they are great guitars, even of the second batch ; I know some original owners are selling them now.

I had some thoughts about the serial number on the neck plate. It didn't quite fit and had me looking back on Alain's thread about his guitar. Good that you found a way to bring him into this. Caveat emptor as usual.

The 2nd run guitars on the website you linked had white scratchplates and coloured headstock didnt they? This one has a flamed coloured scratchplate and a coloured headstock?

I'm starting to get confused myself now.

Sorry my mistake. The 2nd run guitars in the Yuriy website appear to start off with a pearloid scratchplate. Then the one at the bottom of the page has the flamed coloured look.

I really need to start paying more attention.

That one was made upon request of a client.

Speaking about one of a kind, the friend of mine who brought back mine from Moscow bought for himself one of the seconf batch which of course is identical to the one for sale. :?
