Yasuhiko Iwanade was an amazing builder and very "vintage" aware. His knowledege of minute details of vintage instruments, as well as the Japanese market and their interest in those details, helped up create more vintage accurate product in the early CS days.

I love his "Galaxy of Strats" book. Best picture book on vintage Strats available. Two of my CS Masterbuilts have colors matched to pictures in that book.

Yasuhiko Iwanade is the actual president of Gibson's Japanese subsidiary.

I've found a photo of him:

..and one of three Fender replica guitars made under his Guitarix label as part of his portfolio that he presented to Fender when he applied to work in the Custom Shop in the early 1980s.

Hired by Mike Stevens, Yasuhiko made some beautiful Fender replicas and reissue guitars during his tenure with Fender. This guitar was made by Yasuhiko as his tribute to the 1954 Strat, and it is very real in appearance, feel, sound, and playability. A really fine guitar in every respect.
