My work-week day rises at around 4:30-5:00 a.m. and sets around midnight. You know the times on many of my posts.

Wish you the best at our age.

Great seeing you Alain!
I just arrived in Hamburg now. So tired. This tour has been the best! Great yesterday, and it made my day to see you. After everybody left, they broke out the upright bass, and we played a bunch also.I bought a pedal and two books from that store!!

Ok, back to this guitar.....I want to know also!!

Thanks a lot Mike I shared the same pleasure,
So tired..Yes I can imagine.

Please I hope you won't blame me for revealing what you told me:
Mike was calling his wife saying he was having a lunch (time difference) and she said "Ah in one of those French 3 Star restaurant ? " In fact because of a more than tight time schedule he was having a lunch at a Buffalo Grill...
What a pity..
Mike, next time ....

Alain

Back in the day, we'd pack it in at the CAFE WHA? around 2:00 a.m. and head over to midtown and The Brasserie 'til around 5:00.

One of my favorite anecdotes about that place concerns the evening I watched, over my shoulder, as the maitre'd refused to admit some people dressed in jeans. Afterwards, I called him to our table and I asked him if he'd ever heard of "The Beach Boys". He replied in a very strong affirmative.

"Well", I replied, you've just hustled them out of here."

"Soon you will see one of the most (if not the most) beautiful guitars ever made by the Custom Shop, Master Designed and Masterbuilt by the late John English for the 199X NAMM. A One-Off in a way, but not totally"

Man, how do you afford all these sweet guitars.

He may be kind enough to answer your question, but when you consider that there are all these Strats, Teles, and other Fender brickabrac, as well as Gretsch, plus the various amps and such, this should suggest to you that providence has been kind over the past 50 years or so, and chance has favored the prepared mind.

Here's a thought though. Nikininja in his pursuit of unhooking himself from nicotine calculated that he could then afford to buy one Custom Shop Stratocaster per year in lieu of cigarettes. So it's feasable to amass an impressive collection of guitars if one is willing to forego ruining one's health.

Different strokes for different folks.
