I'm a proud new owner of a Custom Shop Deluxe Stratocaster and as the finish is nitro celullose lacquer, I'm looking for a guitar stand which is nitrosafe.

All the stands I have are with rubber or foam (Hercules, Stagg) and I won't try to let my new baby on it ;-)

Do you have any advice ?

Thanks

ps: I've seen the old dogs stands but they don't sell it to europe :-(

Your hercules stand will be fine as all hercules stands come with neoprene rubber, which doesn't carry any acidic value, and it won't wear into the nitro!

My solution is to buy a set of microfiber shop towels from any good auto parts store or Costco, and cut them length-wise into strips, and wrap the "touch" parts of any decent stand. Like wrapping with a gauze bandage, but better for the finish. ;)

I use Dean Markley guitar stands. I sent the company an email and asked them about this issue. They responded that they have not had any problems or complaints so far and he felt that their stands are nitro-safe.

But I won't take chances so what I did was I took a guitar polishing cloth and cut it up into sections and wrapped it around the contact points of the stand. Now I'm completely safe.

Stay away from the stands that use surgical tubing.

What about those nice guitar wallhangers? Are they nitro-laquer safe?

This stand will cradle your CS Strat very nicely and is nitro safe. Yes it's pricey but it's well worth the money. I have one for my CS Master Built Tele. The stands are designed and built by the former co-founder and Custom Shop Manager John Page.
