The "Custom Deluxe" Telecaster just arrived! Now the "Custom Deluxe" stratocaster has a matching sister! Many thanks to the Fender Custom Shop folks to building another great Telecaster!

Hey Sean-

Those are two really beautiful guitars. I am a bit partial to the Tele - I really like the locking tuners (I think next years Custom Dlexues will no longer include that upgrade) and the lack of the string tree - makes for great tuning stability.

Thanks, I putting locking tuners on all my modern Fenders. While some people don't understand why you might have locking tuners on a Tele, since there is no vibrato, it does make string changes very quick & easy.

I'm really digging the "Hot NoCaster" bridge pickup, anyone know more about these! The "Twisted Tele" pup in the neck, is pretty sweet also, and the huge neck, not sure if it qualifies as a "baseball bat", but man does it fit like a glove!

Hi guys. My first post on the forum. This is a picture of my Tele Custom Deluxe 2 colour sunburst but with Rosewood board. Its strange because I never really liked sunburst, or rosewood boards, but when I saw this and played it I just loved it. Its got a great neck, really chunky but oh so comfortable. Very different to my Custom Classic Strat with C neck, but a real treat to play.

I wonder what the next generation will be like after the end of the Custom Deluxe run ? I must say I like the neck so much that I am tempted to follow the trend and get myself the Strat too. Trouble is its very bad for the bank balance !! Still its no use being the richest man in the grave yard now is it ?

the necks on the strats are a bit different than on the teles, but still very nice. The strat has a ‘65 “C” Shape, and the Tele has a Downsized “U” Shape.

Thanks for the info Sean, I must try to get to the dealer and check out his stock. I have to admit I am seriously tempted to look at the 51 nocaster instead as it seems the run of these is coming to an end. Decisions decisions !!

I'm just not a fan of the vintage hardware specs (7.25 radius, tuners and bridges), which keeps me away from the NoCaster and other vintage models. Maybe I just haven't met the right one yet :)

If you pause the video @0:39 & @0:46 seconds, there is a good shot, and if looks pretty close! @0:53 is a great shot of the back, maybe you could post a pix of the back?

I'm pretty sure that is yours, after watching the whole video again!

Having trouble with Photobucket just now but if Mike is not playing my guitar I am a monkey's uncle. As soon as I am able to put the picture on I will. See what you think !

Only a quick snap and I am afraid its a bit grubby because I gigged with it last night and not cleaned it properly since. However I think you can see the grain pattern well enough to decide whether it is the one Mike is using on the u tube clip. As long as they are not using the old photo of real timber technique !! What do you think ?
