Pay it no nevermind. Go into his "????????????????????????" thread for further clarification.

With recent memories of "winfield" abounding, perhaps this one will either go straight and become a useful contributor, or just go away. :?

Doc

Koocho stop acting a clown and try and deal with people a bit better, rather than flying off the handle at every opportunity.

To answer your question.
A replacement Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) can be applied for by the shop where the guitar was first sold. If thats a used instrument you need to find whoever bought it first and hope they remember where they got it.

Koocho, did you buy your Guitar at Long asn McQuade?

I ask this because you are Canadian so odds are pretty high you did. If this is the case it is surprising they wouldn't help you out, I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Anyway ask at the store you bought it from, and if the sales guy just gives you the "It's lost." statement ask to talk to the manager. If your guitar is legitimate, the store you got it from should be able to secure you a new COA from fender.

Good luck.

I suggested something to him on his other thread. If Long and Mcquade....I expect they will have the documentation likely required. If a second owner on a private sale, can't be too sure of the outcome.

Yeah, Long and McQuade is kinda the big Canadian chain. Sort of GC except that most of the employees are helpful, and pretty knowledgeable. Granted I can only speak for the employees of the stores in the 5 major cities i have lived in as an adult. Anyway, what he needs is the paper trail for that guitar. that way they can establish that it is the actual CS guitar, and not a fraud. this also goes back to that other thread on selling the neckplate and COA. It is exactly that kind of sale that hurts people who own actual CS guitars. or that want to buy one. i hope Koocho has a legit CS guitar, and not a fraud with a replaced neckplate, and some simulated decals that someone had foisted off on a small shop.

Someone in the know will likely have to disassemble that guitar, read the dates on the neck end, body, pots, and pickups along with the serial number on the neck plate, if there is a cold paper trail. Ideally, that guitar should never have been taken in trade without the COA, but caveat emptor is the watchword in the market place.

We shall see!

Whenever buying gear which requires certs, always make sure that you get the certs with the gear.

This is a commercial procurement rule that should be remembered for all personal purchases as well.

The music store where I bought this CS claims they originally sold this CS brand new and took it back on a trade in, Shouldnt they be responsible for ordering a replace ment of the documentation? they told me to contact fender to get a replace ment

A Fender authorized dealer is supposed to contact Fender on behalf of the original owner who has to supply his original receipt. If they took possession of the guitar again and sell it they should have gotten back the receipt or supply Fender with a copy of it that should be in thier files. If the shop does not do any of this walk away from the deal. A C.O.A. is what you are looking for. The authorized dealer is the only one who should be contacting Fender for your C.O.A and not you.

They now have just happened to locate the original case upstairs in the attic, (in the case comes all the candy and the certificate) fhopkins its just another example of poor customer service. They new it was up there (the kids who work there) they were just to lazy to go up there and get it. thanks dude your cool fhopkins>
