Hi,

i own one of those guitars since some weeks. Its the best strat i've played/owned tone-wise. Very versatile due to the S-1 switch and the vol pan knob for the neck pickup. Its a big, fat, punchy sounding guitar. The DiMarzio sounds absolutely great - although i was sceptical first as i'm normally a vintage type of guy. In the split mode you have a fantastic single coil bridge tone with only minimal volume loss against the middle and neck pickup. In the Humbucker Mode its a fat sounding pickup, but not over the Top in my opinion. You can work nice with the volume pot to get the distortion degree you want.

The neck was a bit unfamiliar at first due to the nut width of 1.750" but now its my favourite neck shape.

I was looking for the demo video too, i posted a question in the "ask Mike Eldred"-section.

Hi
Thank you for writing. Congratulations for the JC. It's really one of the best. No doubt. Can you explain me again what do you mean by achieving the distortion degree that i want for the bridge pup? how can i do it exactly? do i need to open the pot?
waiting for your answer.
thanks.
**by the way, if you will achieve the 61' JC demo, please send it to me.
thanks again.

Hi,

regarding the distortion degree: i just wanted to explain that if the selector switch is in the humbucker position you can get more gain/distortion in just turning the vol pot clockwise without increasing the volume very much. You can adjust the gain simply with a turn on your volume knob, no mods to do. This works from about 7.5-8 to 10 on the volume knob scale.

Mike posted the answer regarding the video in the meantime, its gone. Maybe one of the other forumites can help?
