Interesting how every thread I'm reading this morning that involves user "Tiglath" appears to be achieving the same result. Big brother is watching! I can tell you're a very intelligent fellow from much of the banter I've been reading from you, but if you don't mind generally toning it down just a few notches across the board that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you kindly for your comments, Big Brother, and Hello. I will certainly heed your suggestion, no ice-pick tone unless provoked, OK? But first this:

Anyone who bothers to notice the progression of the threads you allude to, will see that I try hard not to be the first to disparage or insult. I entered both threads in which I participated in my usual civil manner. But it's never long until people can't resist taking pot shots.

It's not unique to this forum, as it plagues the whole Internet: there are hordes of uncouth people who from the safe haven of their keyboards think nothing of throwing spitballs and vituperating as soon as they disagree with someone. They do it because there is little chance, they believe, that they will have to confront those they disparage or otherwise be held accountable -- though I know of a few who earned surprises in that respect. It gives you an idea of how these people would behave if say, the police went on strike.

Some ignore those people, others return fire and let them have a taste of their own medicine. The latter is never hard because folks who lack manners are usually as well victims of a poor education, and soon end up providing the amusing spectacle of people entering a battle of wits unarmed.

But luck will have it that those whose repartee dries up first end up viewed as the victims, even if they started the whole thing, and he who returns the fire with better aim is viewed as the attacker to be punished.

This is pretty much the case here. I came to talk about a guitar, but soon the sycophants of false gods tried to pile up on me, regardless of the fact that I had remained polite up to that point.

I want to thank you, however, for letting the principles of democracy live on in this private forum, even when you don't have to and could be like in other forums run in a despotic manner where anyone criticizing Fender gets cut at the knees forthwith.

For that exceptional patience alone people should restrain themselves, but if snipers are allowed to fire at me with offensive innuendo or plebeian invective, in a fair world I ought to be able to subject them to the untender mercies they deserve. So far so good.

Side shows aside the sole reason of my presence here concerns a guitar problem. It's now over and done with but I feel the following must be said, albeit trying your indulgence some more.

Long story long...

It is clear to me that Fender builders and master builders care deeply for the product. I find deplorable, however, the way my situation has been handled. ME's modus operandi is hard to understand. Instead of listening, investigating, validating, and then reconciling, he quickly moves to deflect criticism and discredit the customer as a troll taking out his troubles on the world by attacking FMIC. I am not the first to whom this has happened, and I can tell you that although one man's feeble mistreatment can't kill my life-long addiction to strats, that has not been so with others. Fender fans not only meet in public forums; we communicate behind closed doors, by email, in jams, etc. And I know of fanatic Fender collectors/players who were so put off by ME's treatment along the lines described that they will never touch another Fender product.

I have little doubt that Todd Krause would have admitted to making those neck dents, if allowed. Hey, the guy just made the guitar like a real 58 would probably be -- so what? Take it or leave it, and it was probably someone else who designated that guitar a CC, incorrectly -- the actual problem. The amount of energy ME spent trying to disown evident facts, instead of coming clean, speaks loudly. He not only antagonized a good paying customer, but convinced any objective observer that he was just covering his tracks and trying to shut me up with the offer of an unsolicited free "fix." Bad juju.

So much for a post-mortem that can't yet be called, "lessons learned." Will it ever?
