I have a CS Rosewood on order. I am interested in the Satin finish - a am presuming that it is finished that way because the original George Harrison guitar was also satin finish.

Does anyone know for sure if this is the case or not?

And if not, why are the CS making the guitars with the satin finish?

The George's Tele was in satin finish.
The Masterbuilt version is chambered.

Imagine when you have one of the last ones, if not the last, one according to the COA, Masterbuilt by late John English what you'd expect in the future...

Mrpicard,

I have a Rosewood Custom Shop Tele on order which should arrive soon. What do you think of yours? Which kind of amp are you going through? Is the weight a problem? I've never bought a Custom Shop guitar before, what can I expect?

Cheers
Dirk.

I was a Strat player and not long ago had an overwhelming edge to aquire a Tele. First I found a nice, well aged '74 Blonde. It sounded and played very nice. Then I was on a driving tour stopping at as many guitar shops as possible and "discovered" a Rosewood... I had been curious about them and once I picked it up and played it it was true love. I have a few axes but this has to be my all time favorite. Up till now I really did not get the whole Custom Shop thing and price tags....now I understand. As Harley riders say, if I have to explain, you won't understand! My Rosewood "plays like butter" is the only way to describe it!

Update on chambering of Rosewoods...

1. ALL of my Rosewood Teles are chambered. This includes both Masterbuilt and Team Built CS Rosewoods.

2. The amount of chambering gives a variation in the weight of the guitar, along with of course the original wood density.

Hello MrPicard,

$4 grand+ for a new axe and
I gotta replace the hardware
already to make it look new.

I'll pass on that every day of the week.

Cheers.
