Has anyone played one of these? Wondering how the tapped pickup sounds, available tones etc...

Played? Heck! This was my 40th Birthday present to myself. It's a truly incredible guitar. The coil-tap is awesome (and done by Seymour himself, at least, he signed the bottom of the switch plate!)
The "back" or bridge position is high output. Great for leads. The middle is the same "tone" per se, but a little quieter, not as much snarl. Nice for arpeggios and general strumming. The neck position is the traditional (for the time) dark tone circuit for "rhythm work", but it's different than the normal tone that you'd find on something like the '52 or '62 reissue. It's not as muddy or as dark. More like taking the middle position and rolling off the tone knob most of the way. Even sounds pretty good with single notes.

Frankly, I bought mine sight unseen, and was expecting it to be sort of a one-trick pony (albeit a killer trick). It isn't. You play this for a while and wonder why you need more than one pickup! For the record, the build was flawless. Setup was near perfect. If you get a chance to fondle one, grab it!
