Doc you make a really good point early in the post. I have about 7 Clapton concert dvds and tons of clips of him performing and after Blackie I have never seen him hit the stage with anything but a beautiful pristine guitar, Come to think of it outside of guys who are known for there beat up axes everyone I see perform has a well taken care of ax. Beck once in a blue moon would pull out his Esquire years back for Cause weve ended as Lovers, but in the last ten years he just plays it on his Strat. The bottom line is straight up collectors are still dishing out huge chunks of money for relics. Plus I think Mike Eldred would probably admit the guys in the custom shop must have a lot more fun coming up with all these crazy things they do to make a relic than a straight up custom shop ax. Whatcha say Mike.

Clapton used his Blackie copy at the Albert Hall the same night we gave it to him. Beck's main Strat has been broken in half and re-glued together, it is most definiately a beat up guitar. I don't know what you're asking. Most artist's guitars are beat up. Some (because it's offered now) prefer and order Relics now.

I expect that he is replying to my post of July 22nd. I know its kind of late, but for fact , he is presently catching on a lot of unread mail.

Doc.

Hey Mike,

I am the Mike from Minneapolis that attended the Road Show at Dave's Guitar. I bought the 57 Strat that Dennis built. It's my first Custom Shop guitar and my first guitar with a vintage neck.

If I would have known I was going to buy it, I would had Dennis sign the pickguard (inside) or something when he was building it. I would love if Dennis could sign a Road Show sign (the ones posted in the store) so I could have it to keep with the guitar. Also, I see the Road Show guitars have a little laminated hang tag. It would be great if you could make something like that for this guitar and send it to me.

I guess I was ready.

Thanks!

Mike.

PS. I have only posted a few times to this forum so I am new to this software.

Hey Mike
I'll be there. I'm a regular at wild west. I met you a few times. Twice at Fender University and once at NAMM earlier this year. It's always a pleasure talking to you. See you there
