i have SSS mexican standard strat 2007 i guess ? (got S/N in case if necessarily)

i want it to upgrade it ,so i pick my self YJM prewired pickguard since i'm newbie on parts and modifiction

However there is an extra ground wire screwed back of the guitar's body (Not the tremelo claw) yet there's No foil shielded at all , but sort of between unpainted wood and gun poweder there ?

MY question is should i weld this ground wire to my new pickguard or should i get rid or it ?
