Hi All - I haven't seen too many posts about CS Basses. I'm seriously considering ordering one, but information is hard to come by. Has anyone recently ordered one that can share their experiences? I'm also curious about price point based on fairly standard features.

I ordered my CS '59 P-bass from Sweetwater.com. For CS online ordering they're the way to go IMO because they open the box upon receipt from Fender, perform their own inspection to ensure everything is perfect, take pictures of the bass and email them too you before it ships, and pretty much anything else necessary to make sure you're happy. It's always better to play the bass you buy before purchasing, but this is the next best thing if you're forced to order.

I agree with you that information on CS basses isn't as good as it could be. Nor is the selection. They have only a handful of Jazz models and just discontinued the 59 P-bass I got, and their only P-bass offering now is the Pino artist model. But if they happen to have what you want, they are very good basses, the best Fender is currently making. I'd just like to see more of them.

It's worth it, definately. You'll have to go through the wait. Mine was about 4 months I believe. almost everyone that orders one has too endure the wait. It's like a right of passage and can become quite unbearable. Then you plug it in and go nuts.....
