I would like to order a blackie to be made by Todd Krause.

By this I mean a true "BLACKIE" just like the guitar Centre ones that sold out within hours of release complete with sctraches, cigarette burns etc..etc..

Does anyone think this will be possible??

I'm afraid it won't be possible as GT ordered 465 and they are all sold as you know (not only through GT outside of USA)
And TK is a sought after Masterbuilder for EC related stuff.
Just watch Gbase or Ebay for a second hand...

I know of one Blackie replica made by Todd Krause in the Netherlands at KeesDee guitars. They had two and sold one:

I know it's long gone over, but you needed to be camped out overnight at the front door for that one :?

Tell me about it Doc.

The one in the Netherlands is going for a ridiculous price.

The one at Dave's was way more affordable - About $19,000 if memory serves me.

Of course some of them were purchased for speculation :!: They were hardly out of the store when posted on EBay. And 19K US is pretty good considering the selling price was $25K plus tax. That'd be over $2K in NYC.

On consignment for $23.5K :? Interesting. The package went for $25K on Black Friday in 2006. Caleb reports a price of $19K elsewhere.
Price appreciation doesn't seem to be the operating rule here. :!: :?: :?:

There are many and it's too early to expect any return on investment.

I sincerely hope they live that long. It's kind of like waiting on one's Stradivarius copy to appreciate in value. Guitar Center owns the 'ace' and I wouldn't put it past them to auction it off one day.

That price point is certainly remarkable and certainly to your advantage but Alains' take on that from a standpoint of collectibility and appreciation of this instrument would be most interesting. Is it possible that this one is going to be a disappointment from that perspective. :?
