Take off the neck and look, the date will be stamped in the pocket.

I'd like to not have to take the neck off. Isn't there a way to tell by the serial number?

Best,
john

I don' think Fender has published that info for CS basses and guitars. Taking off the neck isn't hard, you just need a screwdriver. Take the strings off first, then unscrew the four bolts behind the neck plate. The neck slides right out. It takes all of about 10 minutes.

On the other hand.......why take the neck off if you dont have to?
Just give Consumer Relations a call....or publish it here and i'll try to get back and look it up for you.
Cheers,
rob
