Hi
Does any body can explain me what is all about the Cunetto relics. It became like a mystery. i have read some articles about the Cunetto era (96-99) and yet can't understand what is all about:
1. why his relics are so expensive? (he made only the paint and the relic job! nothing do with the electricity or pups)
2. does his relic sounds better or just looks better?
3. how can i recognize his relics? does any strat who was built between 96-99 is a Cunetto? are there any signs that make the instrument a Cunetto?
4. What is the connection of John Cruz to the Cunetto workshop?
i will really appreciate your answers. Please help me to understand this mystery...!
thanks

1) Some feel they are collectors items, they were the first relics
Some of the relic'ing is different, "some" feel more authentic

2) Sound and Looks are subjective. But they do not inherently
sound better, or necessarily look better

3)If you look at the Custom Shop Stamp on the back of the necks
headstock, it is stamped in, no black printing.
Most of the newer ones have black Custom Shop sticker

4) I think (not positive) John selected a lot of the wood back then
that was sent to Vince Cunetto to do his relic'ing. John was also
QA around that time, a lot of the necks have his name stamped
on them.

Some people on ebay, erroneously call a strat with Johns stamp
on it from back then a "John Cruz Masterbuilt" . when in actuality
it was a standard Custom Shop guitar that John QA'd
