hello all,

I have been playing for about 5 years now, and have amassed a pretty big collection for a 16-year-old (8 total, 4 of them Strats: Cypress Mica JM Strat, '91 Strat Plus, Clapton, and John Mayer Relic ). I wanted to share my Xmas present with everybody. I'm new to these forums, but am a very large contributor to the Musician Forum of My Stupid Mouth, one of the largest John Mayer Fan-sites around.

I'm currently in the market for a Closet Classic Reverse Proto Strat. I've been fascinated by the mystery behind the originals. I'm willing to trade for one too.

Enjoy your new axe. You'll find that it has quite a different voice.

Question: Does your guitar have a TBX tone pot? There's a previous post regarding a nitro-finished CS Clapton being offered by Wildwood Guitars whose posted specs mention a conventional tone pot.

Doc

yes, mine does. it also has the mid boost. WWG is my fave shop in the world. been having my eye on a used Proto they have. I would figure they would request their own specs for regular models. is it the thin-skin model they are referring to?

Of course, the mid-boost would be expected. If the specs contained in the Wildwood website link recently posted on the Forum are correct, then the controversy regarding the tone pot has been renewed.

Perhaps we should inquire of the vendor regarding that guitar? :?
