Guys, i recently saw a serial number neck plate plus certification being sold on ebay by itself....it got me wondering, could i hv bought a fake Fender Rory Gallagher online if they made it and just put the licenses on it?? Would u send ur Fender Custom Shop RG to ur local luthier to set up on the intonation??? Yep, might be paranoia...thx guys

I saw that neckplate and certificate too. I've also seen CS decals. There needs to be something done about it. The UK seller i saw only lives 80 miles from me just outside of leeds. Surely it must infringe copyright.

I've since emailed Brad on this to the point...that the company should contact EBay UK in this matter. That I considered it would be a matter of great importance to the Forum is echoed herein. Seems to me there are trademark/copyright infringement and potential fraud issues to be explored.

Can someone send me a direct link to the auction(s) in question, please? That's the kind of stuff that certainly makes one's stomach churn.

Looks like this seller is at it too  Maybe Nik can confirm this is the same seller, either way it looks dodgey.

No the one i saw was from leeds. This one looks like some fool who's bought a tele and decided to make a bit back by selling the coa and neckplate.

Sounds logical. Who would send a neck plate, mounting screws, inspection tag and COA out the back door for a couple of bucks?

My apologies guys, I just thought there was something very fishy here. The reason I stuck it up was, I saw a "custom shop Tele" on auction in e-bay a few weeks ago. Even I could see it was a fake, but there are some poor schmucks out there who could well get burned. The seller had the c.o.a. neckplate etc etc and made a big deal about it, but the pix of said guitar did not lie. I just hope these crooks get what's coming to them, I guess it's the world we live in. Again, sorry for confusing the issue guys.

No apology needed Captain Neela. Perhaps the Fender and the Ebay managements can find a way to keep this stuff off the block.
