I wish Fender custom shop would make a Tribute Stratocaster for the late Reggae legend Peter Tosh. If you dont know who Peter Tosh was,he was a founding member of the Wailers before it was renamed "Bob Marley & The Wailers". Unlike Marley, Peter Tosh wrote strictly revolutionary songs such as "Fight Apartheid", "No Nuclear War" and The infamous "Legalize It".
Peter Tosh in his later years I'd say around 1983 I believe he was seen using a customized Strat shaped liked an m-16 machine gun.
He used that guitar as a message of saying " Music is my weapon"
Peter Tosh was killed in his home by a group of masked gunmen on sept.11,1987.

here is the link to the picture of Tosh with his strat-http://musicthing.blogspot.com/2004/11/guitars-shaped-like-guns-update.html

haha, but that wouldnt be a an accurate tribute replica of Tosh's m-16 strat. The guitar is not just an instrument its a work of ART.
It has a powerful message of "Music is my weapon". I see Fender has made tribute guitars for Andy Summers and Joe Strummer(both incorporated reggae/ska in to there music) Its about time that Fender could make a tribute to a great Revolutionary.

None taken, Its nice to know youre a fan of Tosh's music. Hell I think Clapton would appreciate a Peter Tosh tribute strat. Clapton is a fan of Peter Tosh.He even did a cover of Tosh's "What'cha Gonna Do?" with Tosh on background vocals!

It would be cool, but I don't think there is much of a market for guitars shaped like machine guns. All of the custom shop Fender's so far at least resemble a classic Fender guitar (strat/tele). I don't think just the headstock would be enough.

I think it would be a great project. I see Fender has even made a bass for that douchebag Pete Wentz or whatever his name is... The Peter Tosh Foundation is asking people for a replica of his guitar for the future Peter Tosh Museum , who better to make a replica than FENDER!
Come to think about it, I'd hate to have to go through airport security with it.
